I have a reader so picky she is even a picky listener. Most read aloud books are started and dumped. I have to say, she was leaning a little toward dump on this one for the first couple of chapters, but she was willing to keep going, and then BOOM, the story hit home and she was begging me to keep reading right to the end. As an adult, I liked the hard work and self-sufficiency of the main character while still putting others' feelings first as much as possible. The writing is very smooth, often funny, and captures beautifully both the confidence and social angst of this age group. While the protagonist is a boy, it is not a "boy book" or a "girl book." Both genders will enjoy reading this mystery, and parents will enjoy reading it with them.Product details

I really enjoyed this book! I had to stay up to finish it because the action was so smooth and interesting. It was also a lot of fun! I would definitely recommend this as an easy to read book that is suitable for any age reader!

From saving a man left in a dumpster to creating a hybrid dinosaur, Steven has quite the adventure and makes some friends along the way. The book is set in Vernal, Utah and the Utah Field House Museum.
